About SRF Foundation

The SRF Foundation, formerly known as the "Society for Education and Welfare" was setup in 1982 as Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) arm of SRF Ltd., which is a leading multi-business entity engaged in textiles, chemicals, packaging films, and engineering plastics. The Foundation builds on the heritage of its founders, the Late Sir Shri Ram and Late Dr. Bharat Ram, who both believed in contributing to the society particularly through education. They were instrumental in the establishment of institutions such as the Lady Sri Ram College, Shri Ram College of Commerce, The Shri Ram Research Institute, The Anglo Sanskrit School and many others.

In keeping up with this legacy, the SRF Foundation setup the well known The Shri Ram Schools in Gurgaon and New Delhi in 1988, as well as SRF Vidyalaya in 1992 in Chennai. In addition, the Foundation is intimately connected with the running of the well-known Lady Shri Ram College for Women. It currently runs various programs to improve the quality of education in India. For more information on these programs, visit Our Institutions and Programs.

Academic institutions can share their research and most up to date teaching methods. In addition, volunteers from these institutions are warmly welcomed to help as well as gain experience and contribute by sharing their knowledge.

Local Community – The essence of our projects is based on the local community. On the ground, support is needed to help out with the actual carrying out of the work and support is also needed to ensure that ownership of the projects is gradually integrated into the community.

Furthermore, with a strong history with regards to The Shri Ram Schools in the region, SRF Foundation plans to leverage on the expertise and experience of the model/design and knowledge of The Shri Ram Schools in relation to the education field.
