HP – World on Wheels (WoW):
HP – World on Wheels (WoW) digital buses offer a unique mobility solution to bridge the digital divide between the urban and the rural / semi-rural parts of the country. HP WoW is a 20-seater; IT-enabled bus which is equipped with the latest computing and printing equipment as well as numerous software and e-learning tools. Designed using state-of-the-art technology to reduce emissions and maximize energy efficiency, each bus is powered by eleven high-efficiency solar panels and battery packs, generating and storing enough power to sustain the lab’s daily energy requirement. It aims to promote e-learning for children, skills & entrepreneurship for youth and digital-based services for the community people. This initiative is to bridge the digital divide among the school-going children, youth and community in Bhiwadi in Rajasthan, Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh and Gummidipoondi in Tamil Nadu.
HP Common Services Lab (CSL):
HP Common Services Lab (CSL) is an education initiative that aims to impact over 5000 youth, community and students through e-learning, e-health and entrepreneurship programs and by making digital and health services accessible. It is an integration of e-education, e-health & e-citizen services built over a standard 40 ft ISO shipping container. It is stationed at SRF’s Manali plant in Tamil Nadu and provides services to communities in and around Manali. CSL is an Internet-Enabled and Solar-Powered digital and health solution unit. It includes Remote Health Consultation & Diagnosis through Health Kiosk, Digital Literacy Training, Electronic Data Processing Training for youth, E-education for students (K-12), Common Citizenship activities, Video conferencing for specific groups, etc. The entrepreneurial and skill development courses will help train school children, rural youth and communities, among others by acting as a Community Service Center (CSC). This initiative is in keeping with SRF Foundation’s mission to provide quality education and skill development training programs across the country. The health services will ensure that the community members can avail of all possible health facilities inside the CSL.
