Jagmag Pathshala – lighting the classrooms project:

SRF Foundation has collaborated with Signify Innovations India Limited and the District & Education Department of UP to implement lighting the classrooms project. The objective of this project is to enhance the interest of the students in classroom-based activities and help them overcome fatigue and dissuasion caused due to poor lighting in their classrooms.

With this intervention, more than 5,000 children and 150 school teachers in 150 classrooms across seventeen Primary and Middle Govt. schools in Greater Noida will be benefitted. An 80% increase in school attendance and a 100% retention is expected because of providing access to qualitative learning environment in these schools.

Sports for development – lighting the playgrounds project:

SRF Foundation has collaborated with Signify Innovations India Limited and the District & Education Department of Haryana to implement the sports for development – lighting playgrounds project. The objective of this project is to provide access to non–scholastic education for the holistic development of children, promote and inculcate the value of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, etc. among children and retain the interest of students towards school education.

The project will cover four Govt. Middle schools in four villages of Nuh, Mewat by lighting the Badminton and Volleyball courts and playgrounds, and thereby promoting evening sports. The project will benefit more than 160 children and 4 coaches in the intervention schools.
