Dr. Meenakshi Gopinath is a former principal of the Lady Shri Ram College for Women, which is a center of academic excellence and achievement. She is also the founder and incumbent director of the Women in Security Conflict Management and Peace (WISCOMP), which is a non-government organization that promotes peace and socio-political leadership amongst the women of South Asia. The Government of India awarded her the fourth highest civilian honor of the Padma Shri in 2007, for her outstanding contribution to the Indian Education Sector.
