Sandeep Bapna is the vice president of international. In this role, he is responsible for accelerating Khan Academy’s reach and impact globally.
Sandeep joined Khan Academy in 2015 and helped set up and grow our India operations. India now has the largest user base for Khan Academy outside of the US. The team in India works with several Indian states to help level the playing field for learners, with support from long-term strategic donors.
Prior to Khan Academy, Sandeep spent over 12 years at IFC, part of the World Bank Group, investing in companies in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe. He later founded an ed-tech startup that created communities for online learners in more than 80 countries.
Sandeep has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from IIT Varanasi and a master’s in business management from IIM Calcutta.
